Boxing... is something that you have to be part of to really appreciate it's beauty... She always had loyal, intelligent fans who reflected their lives to each match. You all may think I'm crazy. Maybe I am, but my passion for boxing is true, and you'll see after you yourself have been into a ring. |

I'm a much bigger MMA fan, but I like boxing too. I usually only watch the big fights when it comes to boxing, whereas I try to see all the fights on the card for a top MMA event. |

Boxing comes out swinging, gets taken down and submitted via kimura. I hate Dana White, but he did say it best: "Boxing is your fathers sport. " |

I like both. I prefer to watch an exciting boxing match than an exciting mma match, however i like both of the sports. |

I love MMA... but how can you discount boxing? It will always be the sweet science. |

Boxing is way to straight forward. They only have to think of punches and that's it. Mixed martial arts is punching along with so many facets of fighting. if your kicks are good you can keep people at bay or even wack them with a smack in the face with your foot. Then there is the ground game. Put mike tyson even in his prime against someone like fedor emelianenko or cro cop or shogun rua or anderson silva or even against the great royce gracie and watch him still be demolished. tyson was a great fighter in his prime. his punches were like speeding trucks. you got hit and you were done. the trick is though that there are a lot of vicious guys in mma that can take him down with ease and finish him off. look at fights like emelianenko vs arlovski or dan henderson vs anderson silva or gabriel gonzaga vs cro cop. Watch some of wanderlei silva's highlights especially in pride and just imagine tyson in one of those fights. do you think that tyson can take some of those brutal matches? btw i name tyson because his punches were brutal. In general it all depends really how well a fighter you are, but if you stick someone who only knows how to throw good punches against a guy who can punch with the best of them as well as do many other things then they will have a tough time. |

I guess I prefer MMA however, Boxing is good too. I have a hard time watching the MMA and knowing that it's kind of corrupting the mind of people as they start to think that any martial arts outside of MMA or not used in the UFC is useless when that isn't true at all. Example: I've seen a person that stated Aikido is not a real art and is only used for demonstration. However, there's a video of a Muay Thai fighter facing an Aikido fighter and the Aikido fighter won. The MMA is good as long as you don't act as if you know martial arts from learning it. Boxing is great as well at times and seems like a calming sport in a way, but still furious. |
