Mixed Martial Arts Zone

Question: Ufc, is ufc fighting, its basicaly mixed martial arts, with gloves illegal in virginia?

Its pretty much just like back yard boxing Is fighting illegal in the state of Virginia? its basicaly kick boxing me and some buddies started UFC fighting the other weekend we have had some pretty good fights, we use the official UFC gloves and have a ref and everything its pretty legit, i had a black eye after one fight and my parents asked about it when they saw me over the weekend, i was just wondering if its illegal to fight for fun, with gloves?

"UFC fighting " is called Mixed Martial Arts. The UFC is a promotional company that puts on MMA matches. And no, it's not basically kick boxing because it allows for a wealth of grappling and ground-fighting. For fun, it shouldn't be illegal. Although I would highly encourage you guys to pick up MMA sparring gloves (they have more padding that MMA fight gloves, check out "Combat Sports International), and if you're going to do this you should definitely wear a mouthpiece and a cup. Also, it's a really, really bad idea to be doing this if you don't have any training. But if you're going to do this, take my advice and buy different gloves, wear more protective gear, and just be safe for God's sake.

We get kids on here all of the time asking this question. The truth is non of us can tell you. Go up to the police station or even give them a call and ask. They are the only ones who can really answer this question for you. Some people have posted links to kids doing this stupid crap and that it is illegal in areas. What these links do not cover is the intent of why you are doing it. Do yourself a huge favor and just call the station tomorrow and find the truth for yourself.

Yea its illegal. Just stop. Please. You guys are embarrassing real mma trainers/ fans. "UFC fighting " its called mma. You guys clearly dont know what you are doing, and you are giving mma a bad name. Just stop.
