Travis m did a great job of explaining. Not all Gracie fighters are the same. Ive seen a few of them fight (Rickson, Royler, Ryan, Royce), and they arent all the same. Sure, they all implement Gracie Jiu Jitsu, but to lesser extents. Rickson to me was way more well rounded than Royce. I think Rickson could take GSP when he was in his prime. Im not so sure on Rorion though. On a side note, does anyone actually believe Rickson was 400-0? Or did he fight like 10 random low level fighters in a week to help pad his record? I think Sherdog only has him pegged for 16 or so wins. |

GSP. I'm not knocking the Gracies by any means. I'm a BJJ student myself (purple belt) But mma is a sport and BJJ is a sport and they both train different ways. If it were mma rules GSP would win. BJJ rules or even no Rules I think Rorion would win. |

We already saw a preview of the fight. Matt Hughes vs. Royce Gracie. Gracie ju jitsu is not very relavent anymore. GSP would dominate. Fact of life. |

I actually havent seen Rorion fight, so I can't compare... but his brother Rickson would absolutely destroy GSP. The best GSP could do there is to MAYBE last all 3 rounds, and lose to an overwhelming decision... but he'd be a bloody mess for it. As for the "preview " someone mentioned above, about the Hughes vs Royce fight, there's not even a comparison there! Royce is a completely different person than his brothers, and GSP is a totally different fighter than Hughes, what's the connection there?? Different people, different fight. Just because Hughes beat up on Royce, that means that GSP is going to beat up on Royce's brother?? Let's think about this.... Just because Fabricio Werdum choked out Aleksander Emelianenko, does that mean that some other brazilian fighter is going to beat up on Aleksander' big brother, Fedor?? Different people, different fight... you can't make that comparison. |

Rorion was the originator of the ufc i think if they both were put in there prime gsp would win if it was mma rules but if it was the way rorion wanted the ufc to be he would win due to the fact that there were no restrictions on rules and the gracies would do anyting to secure the submission |
