Mixed Martial Arts is not a game. It is serious business, you can get seriously hurt, or hurt someone else badly if you're not paying attention, or do something wrong. There is nothing wrong with females practicing martial arts of any kind. I've known a lot of women and girls who joined martial arts and self defense classes for various reasons. But the only ones who ever made it very far were the ones who took it seriously, and not as a game. |

Forget that guy shrouded take the advice of bruce lee... Play but play seriously... nothing wrong with enjoying the practice and if you don't enjoy it don't do it... Play is a good term studies show we learn better in a state of enjoyment... No need for the guilt trips and training like your life depends on it, because it probably doesn't unless your in some type of military/ law enforcement/ security job or live in a really bad neighbourhood. Anyway onto topic... girl doing mma... guy doing mma... so what... rare but... so what |

Wether it be for fun or for self defence, I think it is great that you do MMA. I also think it great that you realize that it is a sport. Whatever people think of you, just keep going with it, do what you love. |

That's the problem with MMA, too much of a sport and it loses it meaning. regardless, girls that do that are hot to me |

No such thing as "playing " mma. You practice it, you train in it etc. but you don't play it. Anyways, I'm also female and I practice mma so I don't think there's anything wrong with it. It doesn't mean we're violent, it means we enjoy training in a great sport. |

Don't use the term "play " when it comes to combat sports. Anyway, I don't think of them any differently than I do men who practice MMA. I hope this doesn't sound like a cliche', but these people you talk to are very ignorant. |

Karate and MMA training are both sport and self-defense. Point-karate is clearly a 'sport'. Anyway .. I don't think much one way or the other about women in MMA, although they tend to be in good shape. I really would like my daughter to learn some boxing and judo, at least to the point of doing some sparring. I'd like her to know that if she gets punched by an attacker, she can punch back, not just cry. There's a certain confidence from knowing that you've been punched in the head and _the world didn't end_. |
